LAS VEGAS (January 19, 2010) - Milgard Windows & Doors recently asked builders across the country to share their unmet window product needs. The response was clear: builders were concerned about window damage, before, during and after installation. And when builders spoke, Milgard listened. The result is Milgard's new SmartCase™ installation system, an innovative solution that revolutionizes the way windows are installed.
The SmartCase system eliminates concerns about window damage after installation by designing a more efficient and risk-free installation process that changes when and how windows are installed. Rather than placing window units in new homes early in the construction process, a durable structural frame sill pan and cover are installed that allow installation of finish stucco, siding and trim before windows arrive.
"The SmartCase Installation System absorbs any construction-related bumps and bruises, protecting windows from possible damage," said Scott Morgan, VP of Sales and Marketing for Milgard. "Final windows can then be easily placed in the frame just after interior paint is applied and decorative exterior trim is installed."
The system increases jobsite productivity by virtually eliminating window damage and reducing cleaning time at the build site. Builders can order windows later, increasing cash flow, and offering the option of window upgrades to the customer during construction. The SmartCase installation system provides additional water infiltration protection through a proprietary water management system. This system, which is engineered into the frame's nail fin, is designed to channel water out of the structure to the frame's weeping system, providing added protection during adverse conditions.
The SmartCase installation system, accepts any Milgard vinyl window including Style Line™ Series vinyl windows and Montecito™ Series new construction windows. For details, visit pro.milgard.com or contact your local Milgard dealer.
