New colors and Full Lifetime Warranty now including glass breakage coverage enhance the Ultra™ and WoodClad™ lines
LAS VEGAS (January 20, 2009) - Milgard Windows & Doors introduces a new addition to its WoodClad Series of fiberglass windows and doors with a new mahogany species interior. A classic dark wood veneer with mahogany offers builders a beautiful new option to suit the varied tastes of their customers. The WoodClad Series is also available in a clear vertical grain Douglas fir interior.
"Mahogany offers a dramatic alternative to the lighter Douglas fir for both new construction projects, as well as for certain remodeling projects," said Maureen Faccia, Director of Marketing for Milgard. "It adds a classic traditional home choice to our high-performance fiberglass line with the energy efficiency, design and durability standards found on all Milgard windows and doors."
Milgard's WoodClad and Ultra fiberglass window frames provide the exterior the look of painted wood, but its baked-on finish will never crack, peel or need repainting. Fiberglass is prized for its durability, thermal benefits and low maintenance, making it superior to wood or any other material for window and door applications.
In addition to adding mahogany, Milgard is extending its industry-leading Full Lifetime Warranty including glass breakage coverage to its WoodClad and Ultra Fiberglass Series windows and doors. The Full Lifetime Warranty including glass breakage coverage lasts as long as the homeowner owns or resides in the home.
"With wood windows, most manufacturer warranties will cover parts, but not the significant labor cost to perform the repair," said Faccia. "Milgard's warranty covers both parts and labor. This represents a significant value, since with other wood windows, the whole sash often needs to be replaced, leaving the homeowner with a staining or painting job to finish the project."
In addition, if the original owner moves within 10 years of installation, the full warranty transfers to all new owners for the remainder of the 10-year period. The warranty also pertains to owner-occupied multifamily residences. Coverage is extended to the original purchasing homeowner for as long as they own or reside in the home - including materials and labor.
"Builders can now provide the peace of mind for their fiberglass projects that they have come to know with our vinyl windows," Faccia said. "If damage occurs to a window, it will be repaired for as long as the homeowner resides in their home."
