More Light and Less Screen Improve the Home's View – Inside and Out

SAN FRANCISCO (June 17, 2009) - Milgard Windows & Doors introduces its improved PureView™ excellent visibility screen, making it possible for homeowners to focus on the view outside instead of the screen in front of them. The new screen is a great new option for builders and contractors on all Ultra™ and WoodClad™ Series fiberglass windows and patio doors, Tuscany™ and Montecito™ Series vinyl windows and the Classic™ Series line of patio doors.

PureView is made of a durable flame-retardant fiberglass mesh screen, making it suitable for window and door applications. The fiberglass construction is also strong enough to withstand high winds, making it a recommended product for coastal regions. The uniformity in the look of the new screen also creates an architect-pleasing curb appeal.

"The PureView screen is another example of how Milgard looks to provide solutions that meet all of our customers' needs," said Scott Morgan, VP of Sales and Marketing for Milgard. "The new PureView screen has been improved to provide even better air-flow and light transmittance and is available just in time for warm-weather entertaining."

In addition to providing better visibility, PureView provides a multitude of benefits over other, standard screens. The benefits include improved light transmittance, better curb appeal when viewing windows from the street, excellent insect protection due to 30 percent smaller openings than standard screens and improved air flow as a result of increased openness.

The fiberglass construction of the screen implements a system of yarns that are smaller in diameter, improving the overall openness by 15 percent over standard screen counterparts. These smaller yarns and extra openness block less of the homeowner's vision and allow increased light transmittance, even further enhancing the exterior view. It also improves airflow, allowing fresh breezes to flow through freely.

While the smaller yarn diameter increases openness by blocking less airflow and light, the holes in between the yarns are actually 30 percent smaller than standard fiberglass insect screens, resulting in exceptional protection against very small insects.
