Poor phone service Inpurchase the patio door thru home depot. I paid extra to have he accessories on the door. The door arrived was standard without the extra parts I ordered. The phone rep never called me initially as informed by the Home Depot. I took them 2 weeks and inquiries from Home Depot to call me. I scheduled he appointment one minh in advance, but the service guy didn't have the parts with him because he phone girl didn't take down the right info; even though I had to talk to 2 different girls and explained my story at least 3 times ( they didn't even have the right time down). I had to schedule another appointment and finally it was fixed. The service guy was good and professional, but the phone girls need a lot more training. September 9, 2013

Quick and fixed! Someone told me that my windows were still under warranty and I didn't quite believe it. We bad 2 small windows that wouldn't stay open anymore so I called and when I got the call back, they were here the next day and came it to fix the problem in about 10 minutes - no charge! Missed opportunities We had to have Milgard come to our home on 3 different occasions for a few reasons I feel could have been avoided. First issue, the technician came before the scheduled time and therefore my husband was not present. He fixed one window and then replaced the wrong window (could have been avoided if he would have come at the time he said, my teenage son did not know which window needed to be done). We had to call and make a second appointment. 2nd visit the technician came and replaced the window but the replacement had a big scratch. The technician knew it but put the window in anyways. My husband was not happy about that and was vocal to Sergie and Aaron. We at this point called Aaron from customer service and told him not to send Sergie back. 3rd visit window was replaced and done well. I really appreciated you replacing the windows...that was fine but didn't feel the like technician listened to us. Customer service in home warranty was excellent I am not the original owner if the house but when I contacted Milgard online to ask about warranty work on window balances I received a friendly helpful response that started out with Yes we can help you with that. The service was excellent. I posted this on Facebook: Professional cleaning crew informed me, two fixed double-pane windows in a rental were a little cloudy, which is indicative of a seal compromise. Windows were 'bout ten years old. Wrote down ID info on each window and called Milgard. Milgard contractors came out and changed-out defective panes with new ones. Milgard has lifetime warranties on their windows. What a great company. September 7, 2013
Was given incorrect info about appointment time My experience with the service tech was great. However, I was given a time window of 7-9:00 am on a Saturday morning (via email from Milgard), when in fact the tech told us t it was 9:30-11:30. This means we got up much earlier than we had to. The tech called and asked if it was OK to come a bit early, which is when we found out that he was actually scheduled to arrive after 9:30. He arrived before 9:00 and replaced the section of the window promptly and efficiently. September 7, 2013
Could not have asked for more I love my Milgard doors and windows, but the best part has to be the friendly outstanding customer service. I had to purchase a new screen (dumb friend tried to walk through it) the support from Milgard was exceptional. The technician was great. Parts were incorrect even after I reconfirmed I needed parts for awning window; very frustrated! Milgard service comes to Pacific City 1 day per month from there Tigard office. I requested parts and install service for my awning window. I called a second time to ask about billing and reconfirm the service work. On this call I repeated that I needed parts for a double awning window. I made special arrangements to be in Pacific City when the technician would be there, it just so happened to be a late afternoon appointment. The technician arrived and determined very quickly that he did not have the right parts, the incorrect parts were ordered. Because it is difficult to schedule around Milgard's limited availability in Pacific City I asked the technician to show me how to do the repair. The technician was on time and professional. I am still waiting for the parts so I can complete the repair. I am disappointed by Milgard's phone order system ... maybe I need to try the web site. Overall I have to rate Milgard as only FAIR. Sergey was a very competent man for the repair job. I could have set my watch by the promptness of Sergey when he arrived, and our location is rather remote. The repair work that he had to do was all on the second story, and because of the ground terrain below, it was not practical to set up a ladder. So he elected to do the exchange of glass and gridwork from the inside. The job in my mind really required two people, none the less, with only a small amount of help from myself he was more than able to accomplish the job. Sergey is very easy to work with, and has a very good "can do" attitude. He was extremely neat and careful of the surroundings. The windows now look much better with the proper gridwork in them,,,thank you for the excellent service. I am very impressed with how Milgard stands behind their fine product. September 6, 2013

This service was poor. We had our initial service appointment for warranty repair on July 9th. The technician that came out was professional but unfortunately didn't put in an order for missing parts. After a return service trip nearly a month later he came without the required parts to finish the job. It's now September 6th. Nearly three months later and the parts still haven't arrived. After regular weekly calls and emails to the service department with promises to resolve the issue, I am left empty handed. This has caused embarrassment to me and inconvenienced my tenants. On our next development I will consider a different manufacturer because of this poor experience. I caution those who use Milgard products. You get a decent price but TERRIBLE service. When we recently identified problems with the windows, Milgard stepped right up and took care of the problem, with quality service at all levels of our contact with them, from first call to final installation of the new windows. Good work, but workers need some customer service training The service tasks, replacing glass in one door and servicing two screen doors, were done quickly and competently, but the representatives could have improved their service orientation. The were both pleasant enough, but: After we asked that they not block the driveway because we would have to get one car out while they were working, they parked on an angle that prevented our garbage from being picked up and made it difficult to get our car out. They did put one small pad down on the floor, but still left shoe prints and plastic cuttings on our wood floor and rug. In sharp contrast, Newman Windows and Door, the installation company, left the area impeccably clean. They did their best to improve the performance of the screen doors, replacing the new metal wheels with plastic ones. This resulted in significant improvement, but they still feel cheap and make much more noise than our old Milgard screen door. They indicated that many customers complain about the new doors. We are still not happy with them, and suggest that Milgard look into how to improve the screen door design. Admittedly, the excellent service from Newman set our expectations very high. The factory reps, while pleasant and competent enough, fell far short of those expectations. September 6, 2013

As a repeat customer, Milgard service has deteriorated significantly over the past 18 months. The service call was done to replace failed window stripping and one window operator crank. The service consisted of simply removing and discarding the bottom window stripping with an explanation that Milgard's new policy was that bottom window stripping had no function and was therefore no longer necessary. I had to remind the service tech that there were 2 stories of windows to address as he was about to leave after completing only the first floor. Attention to detail was quite poor as there is still failed window stripping present in the 2nd story windows. An operator crank was replaced, however, the service tech did not check it's function upon completion. The hinge of the extender arm now sticks when it hits the lower window frame preventing the window from closing. Very poor or probably non-existent QA on the job site. I'm not at all pleased with Milgard's after sale customer service. September 6, 2013

Outstanding Customer Service!!! I called Milgard about a couple of broken window latches. I really just wanted to purchase some new ones. I had no idea that the warranty on these windows covered replacement of the latches. I e-mailed (off the website) and got a response the same day!!! Impressive. I was offered new latches to be sent to me OR a service call (at no charge) to replace the latches. I chose the service call. Couldn't be happier with the service I received. Latches were replaced and the windows work fine now! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you... Your company is truly doing a great job and should be commended. I have told quite a few people about the fantastic service and I would not hesitate to recommend Milgard to anyone. September 6, 2013
