Hi quality vinyl window in harsh mountain environment
Extreme mountain environment at 9,000' elevation. Excellent insulating & noise abatement properties, Heavy duty frames, blemish free glass, & easy sliding.
Value for $$ very good.

Night and Day
We bought a 1960's Rambler with the original aluminum single pane windows. In short, they were ugly and we were cold. Milgard windows transformed the appearance of our home overnight and our heating bill was immediately lowered despite colder weather and us turning the thermostat up. The fact that they are made right down the road from our SeaTac-area house scores high points on two counts: the gases used in the interface between the double panes will not leak (same pressure during manufacture AND use) AND made in America. Highly recommend.

Look nice and work easily
The windows not only look nice but keep out the drafts. They are also easy to open/close, etc. We got thicker glass in order to keep out more nice as next to a railroad track. Work well, highly recommended.

great lock
We travel worldwide and experience many kinds of windows among other aspects of architecture. You got to love the Milgard locks -- they lock themselves when you close the windows and are visible from across the room when unlocked. The sliding patio doors lack this feature, however.
The bottom rails need more work; Milgard would learn from the Japanese sliding windows and how they vent water and debris. Milgard window rails collect dirt.
