Every window project is different. It's hard to provide an accurate cost range as a house can vary greatly in the number and size of its windows. Costs also depend on the frame material and glass options. Double and triple-glazed windows, or those filled with argon gas, increase energy savings but add to initial upfront costs. Often government or power company incentives include additional tax deductions or rebates for making energy-saving improvements to your home. These incentives may significantly reduce a project's total costs. You may be pleasantly surprised to discover how affordable a window replacement project can be.

The appearance and quality of Aluminum Thermal Break Windows exceeds windows of other materials I researched replacement windows of various manufacturers and materials prior to selecting Milgards Thermal Break Alumimun Frame Window. After seeing a Milgard sample window and cut through a frame member my lifetime of experience in the design and construction field convinced me this was an excellent product and my choice for my 30 year old home. Looks great but beware if you ever plan to open your windows The positive: These windows are beautiful architecturally. I'm a professional architect and have used these in my own modern home. The negative: The screens must be removed or opened via hinge every single time you want to open your window. It is a huge hassle and the tiny plastic clips that hold your screen frame to the window frame break very easily (mine snapped off after just opening my windows three times. The window mechanism should be designed so that opening via crank, etc. can be done without having to first open the screen. October 28, 2014
Horrible Product! I moved into my house when it was barely 5 years old and the windows have been terrible since day one! They have broken seals and I am forced to put plastic coverings on all my windows in the winter because you can feel a breeze when sitting on the couch. The company refuses to fix the broken seals because I am not the original homeowner. These windows were obviously defective when put in or the material is such poor quality that all their products function in this manner. I will be sure to never purchase or recommend this compant to anyone. August 6, 2014
HARD TO OPEN AND CLOSE We have great milgard vynil windows in our current home. We decided to go with the aluminum for more of a modern look for a new house we are building. BIG MISTAKE...it takes me a long time to open these windows. Sometimes I can't even do it. I have to wait for my husband to help me.Be warned! April 1, 2014
Terrific windows We replaced all of our single-pane aluminum windows with Milgard's Thermally-Improved Aluminum windows with SunCoat Max glass. The windows are terrific! Our Phoenix, AZ, home is much more comfortable - so much that we no longer need sun screens. On some of the larger picture windows, we've even left the blinds off! The interior glass and frame get only slightly warm to the touch, and only when hit by direct sunlight (which is pretty intense during AZ summers). The windows were installed by TrueView Glass and Windows of Phoenix, AZ. They were terrific throughout the entire process! Now for the negative. We ordered new-construction windows for the entire house. Four of the windows sent by Milgard were incorrect - 1 was 8 inches too short, two were missing grids, and 1 had the incorrect obscured glass. Upon reviewing the paperwork with TrueView, we concluded that Milgard simply sent the wrong products - likely a data-entry error. All measurements and options on the order were correct. Fortunately, Milgard corrected the problems by sending replacements, however, it added about 6 weeks to the project. I am giving the product 5 stars because the windows are absolutely terrific - they look fantastic, they are incredibly sturdy, and they improve the comfort of our home - these were our objectives with this project. Despite the delay, the final result was worth the hassle. August 1, 2013
Durable, well made, fair price. I added Milgard windows to a living room addition and they performed well. I have a bay window with a horizontal slide in the middle and side picture windows. Two more horizontal sliding windows further back in the room complete this addition. After twenty years they havent broken, or fell apart, though they are becoming a bit difficult to open now.
