Rated 1 out of 5 by Drgothmog Did not secure Windows to home... Simply sandwiched between interior/exterior molding
Be very careful with having Capitol Glass retro-fit into a 1950's home. Approx. 10 yrs ago they replaced all our windows with Milgard but - we are now finding out - it appears they did not secure the windows to the home in any manner. They simply sandwiched them between the interior and exterior molding and caulked them.
What's wrong with that?
As an example, we have a huge picture window in our living room. Recently we had to have the sill replaced. As the old sill was removed the 6'x9' Capitol Glass installed window simply slid down (because it was not attached at all) and we had to hire someone to remove the entire window an install it properly.
This made me walk around our house and look closely at other windows. It appears they were installed in the same manner because some are sliding down, pulling the caulk as they do.
Likely, If I needed to replace the full exterior molding on these windows, I'd have to be very careful that the window doesn't simply fall out. That is what would have happened with our huge picture window.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BobHasslinger Window Replacement requiring special Low E
In 2004, we built our retirement home that has been like a dream come true. . We had purchased all of our windows and sliders from Capital Glass of Olympia. They were from the start excellent in being sure we had the correct windows and in areas where we had an arch, they measured the rough opening before the windows were order, so when installation occurred, there was not a problem at all.
Last December, after 11 years, one of our dining room windows fogged due to a seal failure and I contacted Matt at Capital Glass and asked him if could help us get a replacement. I remember he said…”It’s my job to let you relax and not be stressed over the window. I’ll make it right for you!!” And that is what he has done.
I would highly recommend Capital Glass for ALL of your glass needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Braemar Capitol Glass does quality work.
Pros: Friendly knowledgeable staff. The installation crew, Ted and Bob, were a pleasure to have working on our home. They worked fast and efficiently, and cleaned up the work site when done. Nothing has leaked. Our first install with Capitol glass of 23 windows and slider doors Dec. 2014, and the last final five windows done Sept. 2015.
Cons: There were some difficulties with communication, and getting and keeping our place on the work schedule.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Nickp High prices and not helpful
We had two requests. First replace some glass and second replace a sliding door handle/lock. The glass replacement was very expensive. The cost was in the range of a full window/frame upgrade cost. They were never able to find the correct sliding door handle/lockset for our door and stopped responding to our requests after we sent photos of the door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marie725 I had an exceptional experience with Capitol Glass.
From the first visit it was clear that this company is professional in every way. They demonstrated a high level of knowledge about their products and how the windows would work with my stone window sills, how the installation would work - answering every question I had. The installation went smoothly and I have wonderful new vinyl windows in my house. Clean and cozy. Thanks Jeff and Bob and Capitol Glass.

We have a home on the local historic register. Jeff at Capitol Glass presented a variety of options for us and knew how much we wanted to match the existing windows we had in place. Once selected, the downpayment, permitting, and installation process went smoothly. Their crew installed four windows on our second floor in one day, and took the effort to keep the area clean and taped off. I would definitely recommend Capitol Glass and plan to use them again in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Barb12 Sales and installation people were great
I had Capitol Glass do an estimate for window replacement in my house. Jeff was professional and explained the pros and cons of getting the Milgard windows with a warrenty and without. I chose the ones
with a warrenty. Very nice feature of your windows. The installation crew arrived on time and removed and installed my new windows in a fast and efficient manner. They made sure the windows were square and opened correctly, caulked all the areas that needed caulking and cleaned up all their messes. Couldn't ask for more. I will use them again when I do the next batch of windows.

I really appreciate a vendor who can deliver as promised and more, which was my experience when Capital Glass installed 11 beautiful new Milgard windows. They look terrific and are already delivering a more comfortable home with the cooler weather upon us. Sales staff to installers, a most professional team.
