40 years after choosing Milgard, Corrina Lindborg still feels at home

by Todd Stanford

What first attracted you to the position when you saw that Milgard was hiring?

CL: I was ready to get out of the restaurant business, and I heard about a receptionist position at Milgard. I did not know much about the company at the time, but it was close to home. After getting the job, I found Milgard was a great career choice and the people I worked with welcomed me and made it home.

Did you ever think you’d be at Milgard for 40 years?

CL: I had hoped for longevity in the workplace, and I’d say after 40 years I found it! I love the work, the people, and the company philosophy.

Why do you think you’ve stayed there all these years?

CL: I have been through a lot of changes in my career here at Milgard, which kept it interesting and challenging. Over the year, Milgard has remained a positive place to work.

What is your current title at Milgard?

CL: I work at the Tacoma support team office as a Master Data Management Specialist.

Have you held other titles?

CL: As I mentioned, I started out as a receptionist, then moved to other departments: accounts payable, purchasing/buying, and inside sales and service.

What do you do on a day-to-day basis?

CL: I maintain the purchasing end of corporate pricing. I set up and maintain part numbers in the two systems we use. As part of the supply chain team, I help my teammates in daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.

What’s the most memorable day or event you’ve had at Milgard?

CL: I would say the most joyous day was when I was offered the position at the Tacoma support team office and continuing my career in this wonderful company.

How do you think you’ve contributed to Milgard’s success through the years?

CL: By being dedicated to the company and my team; plus, I have a willingness to adapt and accept change.

Along the same lines, what’s your proudest accomplishment at Milgard?

CL: Being recognized as employee of the quarter.

How has the business changed over the years?

CL: Milgard has changed ownership a few times. Leadership and team members have changed, and product lines have come and gone. But through it all, the work standards, philosophy, and the way they treat team members with respect has not changed, making it a place I want to continue to work at for years to come.

What do you like most about your job?

CL: I like the work that I do, the people that I work with, and the environment that Milgard has created in the workplace.

What is the biggest challenge of your job?

CL: Not being able to say no. I am always willing to help anyone when asked, even when my workload may not necessarily allow, as being able to help other brings me joy.
