Silicone mess
When I received my windows I was disappointed to see the silicone squeeze out and smear all over them.

Reasonably Good for standard Aluminum
I bought these windows as the only option since the City did not allow me to use Vinyl and Milgard - Aluminum series seemed the best solution.

Overall I am pleased with the quality of my new windows...
Milguard should have placed wood stiffeners on all of the windows i purchased .. two out of seven had wood stiffeners in place... my windows were mostly large 6’ x 5’ & all of the nail fins were substantially bent up because of the lack of support to the frame ..
One other thing .. I will be calling customer service to have one of the roller guides replaced as one slider unit was missing one...

A Great Improvement
These windows were installed in the main office of our high school. They look great and the reduction of outside traffic is amazing. A few windows didn't close or open easily, so it was a long wait to get that taken care of, but we are really happy now!

Great product, great customer service
We bought our windows 19 years ago and loved them from the start! Over time, a few of the windows clouded up. I know they have a lifetime warranty but I was afraid to make the call. I figured something would disqualify us. I scrambled to find the paperwork from 19 years ago thinking they’d do everything possible to keep from replacing my clouded windows. I was so wrong! I spoke to John and he treated me like I was a new, paying customer, not a 19 year customer with a problem. They had my address on file and didn’t make me jump through any hoops, ordered my replacements, called to schedule a date, called a few days ahead to schedule a time, arrived as promised, and my clouded windows were replaced! The technicians were knowledgeable, fast, and professional. I was astounded. It was such a relief. I was ready for a battle and there was no battle! I will always have Millard windows!

Awaiting Warranty Service
Installed today, 10/14/2019, and field supervisor advises that 5 of the 12 have to be reordered and re-installed due to installation problems. So, we'll see what Lowes and Milgard do to handle a warranty all before the installation was completed. I can't recommend until I see what Lowes is going to do about 5/12 not being right.

warranty
Original windows original owners, had a service call years ago, got prompt assistance, however, now with another problem, we called and they told us to go on line and fill out form, it's a registration form and frankly I don't know the style or anything since it was 1994 and that date wasn't allowed!

Awning window screens are horrible
We just had our windows installed at our cabin they looked beautiful and very pleased. The screens arrived a few weeks later for the awning windows and casements. Personally I don’t understand how Milgard Can design a beautiful looking window and have screens so cheaply made like they were an after thought not to mention the additional screen doors that need to open the windows with. It ruins the appearance of the windows. I don’t know what to do. The windows are so ugly from the inside of the house now. I have looked all through Milgard brochure again and not one picture to show how the screens will look and fit on the windows.

Solid windows
I love my windows! However my experience with Home Depot was a disaster. Once ordered, Home Depot lost my order, then cancelled my order and blamed it on Milguard. I will never process an order for windows through Home Depot again. Once we were able to reach a Milgard representative, they made the order correct and delivered. I am waiting on a damaged screen for my front window that was damaged when Milguard delivered to my home.

Beautiful!
We purchased two windows about a week ago, to replace the old, wooden ones we had. The new aluminum windows are so much more attractive and the open and close so easily!

Perfectly functional, lower level of finish
If we hadn't been limited to buying aluminium windows we would have bought vinyl instead. They weren't cheap, but some of the finishes are lower quality than I expect from Milgard. For example, the screens for the sliding doors only fit moderately and the mechanism for locking the screen is very cheap (a bent piece of metal). The locking mechanism on the sliding door feels cheap and is poorly designed in the way it is "hidden" behind the handle. On my windows, the screens have tabs for removing/replacing them, and these cheap little pieces of plastic broke off before the builders even finished installation. Overall, I am disappointed. I give these a rating of "just adequate".

Leaking, Water Intrusion No Help from Milgard Tech
I have had these windows for two years in a new condo. They are 6'x6' and beautiful to look at. The problem is when it rains, water fills up the gaskets and does not drain. I have had a Milgard technician come out and poke a wire through holes but that did not fix the issue. I have water damage, mold issues and continue have to put towels in the door wells to try to stop the onslaught of water. I cannot find any videos on fixing this myself and truly disappointed in how long it takes to hear back from Milgard - and then - to wait weeks and weeks to get someone to come out. Overall, I don't recommend these windows.

I am not pleased at this moment.
Trying to get windows replaced that have broken seals. Service men arrived at my home with the glass to replace and didnt do it. Now I am being told that the windows dirty and the seals are fine. The glass is discolored between the panels, I cannot clean that. Trying to get them back out and get this fixed properly. Maybe a manager or someone higher than a customer service rep will see this and contact me.

Surprised
I had a new master bed room glass slider and screen door installed. I was surprised that the slider door handle was wobbly/flimsy when used to open or close the slider. I was more surprised to find that the new screen door was hollow and very noisey when opening and closing it. It was louder than my previous 40 year old screen door when used. I contacted the installing contractor and they replaced the metal wheels with vinyl track wheels which only helped reduce the noise by 25%. I will contact another supplier to pay to have rubber track wheels installed.

We had windows and doors installed 14
Weeks ago. Just about everyone of
Them has an issue. Scratches on so many, mullions warped, seams are all twisted and turned not fitting correctly on window. The one thing that could be controlled is at least send out windows cleaned up. Nope! Ours all all sticky and messy. Slop all over the windows.

They are great looking windows
Purchased these in June thru Lowes, but contractor was only able to install this week. 7 windows and it only took 2 1/2 days to instill (These were replacement) and contractor said they were easy to instill. Will have to wait until winter to see if they are really efficient

Great look, sound, sun blockage, BUT
Love the windows, but don'tkow why they have to arrive caked with glue on many spots on the frame. It is hard work to get the glue off and stressful as I don't want to damage the aluminium finish.

Gasket Problem
The rubber seal between the frame and window, a critical element in making the window waterproof, is poorly installed on both the awning windows I received. The seal does not fit flush with the corners. Instead, it makes a radius, leaving the 90 degree corner of the window exposed - a perfect place for water to enter. Really, really poor quality control.

Good looks and
I just got the windows installed today. They look very nice and beautiful. The were well constructed to the size of my window openings. Fit nicely and neat. Look very sturdy. Easy to operate. Still, will have to wait for several months to evaluate the materials and product performance.

Little Surprised
We had 4 new windows installed and a small slider door. I was surprised to see that the window corners, out of the factory packaging, were not flush and gaps could be seem between the two jointing pieces. I figured that the installer would correct. I asked him about and he said that was normal. After the installer left, I noted that I would need to be careful when cleaning the window, so I don't cut myself on the uneven joints. One corner piece is installed slightly higher than the other. I was also surprised that the small patio slider interior handle and frame on that same side was so flexible when opening and closed. I thought it would be constructed more rigidly.

Time will tell.
This week we had three Milgard panes in our dining room with three Milgard panes. We also had two windows replaced downstairs in our daylight basement. Both were Milgard and they were replaced by Milgard. All five pieces of glass had reputed a seal and were foggy and had lots of water droplets inside. While the installation went well, only time will tell if the new windows retain their integrity. This is an expensive process that shouldn't arise after the first installation....which was also expensive. The installer did a nice job, but it was disappointing that the original windows failed.

Last of the Aluminum Type Windows
Ours are black double pain with Colonial Inserts. We originally bought this type of window several years ago and slowly began to change out our windows from the old silver single pane aluminum type. The new ones purchased had to be specially manufactured due to the nature age of the home (50 yrs +). The new windows fit into the openings with no problem. Milgard manufactured these windows in Southern California so they're working on inches and not some foreign measurements. The windows were delivered in a Milgard truck not by common carrier which tells you they care about ensuring the product does not get damaged in transit. I highly recommend the Milgard aluminum windows. Oh, the price was right as well even for a specially manufactured item.

Quality, Price, Customer Service!
We purchased windows, sliding patio doors, and French doors and we are pleased with all of them! They are solid frames, keep noise out, and have an overall great look. The price was a big factor in going with Milgard.
