For a single hung or double hung window, you can use this guide to learn how to remove and re-install the block and tackle balancer. Be sure to have the necessary parts from Milgard before you begin and read the entire guide before you start. Allow 20 minutes to complete the project.
 

Be sure to read the instructions before you begin to get familiar with the window terminology. This project will require a new SmartTouch® lock from Milgard and Phillips head screwdriver. Please allow at least 10 minutes to complete.

The single hung window has a vent stop on each side of the window at the top of the jamb. It’s very easy to pry this out with your fingers and easily reinstall when needed. This process will take less than 2 minutes.
