Aluminum Series Awning Window is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 249.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! We purchased two windows about a week ago, to replace the old, wooden ones we had. The new aluminum windows are so much more attractive and the open and close so easily!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Perfectly functional, lower level of finish If we hadn't been limited to buying aluminium windows we would have bought vinyl instead. They weren't cheap, but some of the finishes are lower quality than I expect from Milgard. For example, the screens for the sliding doors only fit moderately and the mechanism for locking the screen is very cheap (a bent piece of metal). The locking mechanism on the sliding door feels cheap and is poorly designed in the way it is "hidden" behind the handle. On my windows, the screens have tabs for removing/replacing them, and these cheap little pieces of plastic broke off before the builders even finished installation. Overall, I am disappointed. I give these a rating of "just adequate".

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaking, Water Intrusion No Help from Milgard Tech I have had these windows for two years in a new condo. They are 6'x6' and beautiful to look at. The problem is when it rains, water fills up the gaskets and does not drain. I have had a Milgard technician come out and poke a wire through holes but that did not fix the issue. I have water damage, mold issues and continue have to put towels in the door wells to try to stop the onslaught of water. I cannot find any videos on fixing this myself and truly disappointed in how long it takes to hear back from Milgard - and then - to wait weeks and weeks to get someone to come out. Overall, I don't recommend these windows.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I am not pleased at this moment. Trying to get windows replaced that have broken seals. Service men arrived at my home with the glass to replace and didnt do it. Now I am being told that the windows dirty and the seals are fine. The glass is discolored between the panels, I cannot clean that. Trying to get them back out and get this fixed properly. Maybe a manager or someone higher than a customer service rep will see this and contact me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made We installed the five windows we ordered today ( actually it took two days for five windows ) and they look beautiful! I drilled the flanges for the over-sized oval-head screws and it all worked beautifully! Thank you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprised I had a new master bed room glass slider and screen door installed. I was surprised that the slider door handle was wobbly/flimsy when used to open or close the slider. I was more surprised to find that the new screen door was hollow and very noisey when opening and closing it. It was louder than my previous 40 year old screen door when used. I contacted the installing contractor and they replaced the metal wheels with vinyl track wheels which only helped reduce the noise by 25%. I will contact another supplier to pay to have rubber track wheels installed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Door assembly is horrible and customer service non We had windows and doors installed 14 Weeks ago. Just about everyone of Them has an issue. Scratches on so many, mullions warped, seams are all twisted and turned not fitting correctly on window. The one thing that could be controlled is at least send out windows cleaned up. Nope! Ours all all sticky and messy. Slop all over the windows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They are great looking windows Purchased these in June thru Lowes, but contractor was only able to install this week. 7 windows and it only took 2 1/2 days to instill (These were replacement) and contractor said they were easy to instill. Will have to wait until winter to see if they are really efficient

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great look, sound, sun blockage, BUT Love the windows, but don'tkow why they have to arrive caked with glue on many spots on the frame. It is hard work to get the glue off and stressful as I don't want to damage the aluminium finish.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gasket Problem The rubber seal between the frame and window, a critical element in making the window waterproof, is poorly installed on both the awning windows I received. The seal does not fit flush with the corners. Instead, it makes a radius, leaving the 90 degree corner of the window exposed - a perfect place for water to enter. Really, really poor quality control.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good looks and I just got the windows installed today. They look very nice and beautiful. The were well constructed to the size of my window openings. Fit nicely and neat. Look very sturdy. Easy to operate. Still, will have to wait for several months to evaluate the materials and product performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Little Surprised We had 4 new windows installed and a small slider door. I was surprised to see that the window corners, out of the factory packaging, were not flush and gaps could be seem between the two jointing pieces. I figured that the installer would correct. I asked him about and he said that was normal. After the installer left, I noted that I would need to be careful when cleaning the window, so I don't cut myself on the uneven joints. One corner piece is installed slightly higher than the other. I was also surprised that the small patio slider interior handle and frame on that same side was so flexible when opening and closed. I thought it would be constructed more rigidly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time will tell. This week we had three Milgard panes in our dining room with three Milgard panes. We also had two windows replaced downstairs in our daylight basement. Both were Milgard and they were replaced by Milgard. All five pieces of glass had reputed a seal and were foggy and had lots of water droplets inside. While the installation went well, only time will tell if the new windows retain their integrity. This is an expensive process that shouldn't arise after the first installation....which was also expensive. The installer did a nice job, but it was disappointing that the original windows failed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Last of the Aluminum Type Windows Ours are black double pain with Colonial Inserts. We originally bought this type of window several years ago and slowly began to change out our windows from the old silver single pane aluminum type. The new ones purchased had to be specially manufactured due to the nature age of the home (50 yrs +). The new windows fit into the openings with no problem. Milgard manufactured these windows in Southern California so they're working on inches and not some foreign measurements. The windows were delivered in a Milgard truck not by common carrier which tells you they care about ensuring the product does not get damaged in transit. I highly recommend the Milgard aluminum windows. Oh, the price was right as well even for a specially manufactured item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality, Price, Customer Service! We purchased windows, sliding patio doors, and French doors and we are pleased with all of them! They are solid frames, keep noise out, and have an overall great look. The price was a big factor in going with Milgard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality control The poorest quality control in windows I have seen. I ordered two, and upon arrival one was improperly assembled, so that it would not even close properly. It's replacement had a badly scratched pane. Both windows had excess sealant streamers, globs, and smears all over. The screens were basically glued in place by excess sealant. It took over an hour to scrape and clean all the sealant off the glass, outside the frame, and off the screens. The windows are on the lower end of the scale to start with, but would have been quite acceptable if not for the shoddy workmanship and lack of quality control.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor customer service I’ve called and email Milgard for 3 months. I’ve requested replacement rollers for the windows I purchased a few years ago. Aside from a case number, I have yet to receive a single roller.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good windows, poor service I'm a general contractor. We install all types of windows and doors. If you're looking a quality, low priced window or door, Milgard is the place you want to shop. I actually prefer them to some more expensive brands. Where they fall behind (or maybe this is how they save money and are able to provide a less expensive product) is their service. Their dealers are not able to get any sort of replacement items, be it touch up paint or latches. The online support consists of an e-mail form (doubtful to get a response) or an 800 number (usual wait times of 30 plus minutes and no call backs if you choose that option). Forget about getting any onsite service. They claim it's available, but I've never been able to get anyone out. With that being said, I rarely have issues with their products and the job goes smoothly with everyone being happy they saved money. But on those few occasions when there is an issue, be ready for lots of phone calls, letters, emails, waiting, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Windows Replaced our old aluminum windows that were leaking and corroding. These new double paned windows retain heat in the winter and remain cooler in the summer. Also lessens street noise as we live off of a blvd.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible experience I ordered four windows from Lowes. One was rejected by Lowes because it was so badly damaged. One I refused because it was damaged. One I accepted but it still had some damage to it. Lastly, I'm still waiting for a replacement for the fourth one that arrived at the store, was received and then lost. Incredibly frustrating!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Customer service needs work! We have an entire home full of brand new fiberglass windows and doors. We also have a very large vinyl slider (they couldnt make this in fiberglass). We have had nothing but problems with the hardware and wheels. Customer service has not responded to our multiple inquiries. We can't even lock our doors or patio slider. Super bummed. Paint is also already coming off the vinyl slider.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from questionable quality and deign These windows are very new and pieces are starting to break off. The folding plastic handle lock down has broken off my awning window. This looks like it can happen easily to all the other windows. There easily could have been a better way to solve this. A number of plastic screen holders have broken. Why such thin flimsy plastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional looks We installed Milgard Aluminum windows when we remodeled our house 5 years ago. We have a small rental that we excluded until now. Yes a pain to cut out the stucco to install, but now the windows on the property all match and look and function wonderfully.
