The difference was remarkable
Replaced single pane sliders with Milgard dual pane doors and windows in our living and dining room. The difference in our view is amazing as the new windows do not have a brown tint like our previous sliders! We cant wait to experience the energy savings this summer when the temperatures regularly exceed 100 degrees. We are so pleased with the look, we are also going to replace the windows in our kitchen with Milgard Windows.

Perfect replacement for 1960's home
Milgard's Aluminum line is the perfect replacement for our 1960's mid-century home. They aluminum frames 'disappear' so you only see the view and not the frames. We'd have given it 5 stars except that we aren't crazy about the latching mechanism on the double sliders. Where the two doors meet the mechanism itself lacks a cover plate so you look at the strike area and the springs/screws and it looks unfinished - like something is missing. On the single slider that latches into a wall there is a cover and strike plate but on the double slider there is nothing. Please, Milgard, come up with a more finished look and send us something when you do!

Mid Century Modern Replacement.
We have a Mid Century Modern home and over a year ago replaced 2 sliding glass patio doors with Milgard Aluminum Series mill finish doors. They are still working fantastic and look perfect. One of the doors is the major traffic flow from the house to the outside so it gets used all the time. They are extremely sooth operating and lock securely. We love this product.

MCM Alum Doors and Windows - Awesome Product!
Remodeled a Mid Century home in the Hollywood Hills -- Replaced all the windows as well as 4 sliding doors with clear anodized XO and OXXO alum doors. LOVE them. They worked great. Anyone complaining below about functionality *may* have not hired the correct installer! Do NOT cheap out on window and door installation and WATCH your installers -- ask questions!! The quality of the door is totally negated if improperly installed. My ONLY issue with the door is that I would like a more modern low profile handle. The hoop handles are ok, but a more sleek Fleetwood style handle would be ++++. At least they did away with those lame wood handles on clear anodized!!!! Thank you Milgard. I'll be remodeling a new house soon and gonna get them in bronze (black) next.

Custom Aluminum Awning Widows
I ordered two custom aluminum awning windows from Priority Door and Window Products in San Diego in mid-December, 2018. Within about 5 weeks, Milgard delivered the windows.
However, one of the hinges was missing a screw for the awning window bracket, and the windows weren't aligned properly. But, within two days of installation, Milgard was on site with their field tech support team to install the missing screw and align the windows properly.
Overall, my experience with Milgard was excellent. While they said it would be at least a week before they could make the repair and adjustments, they responded in a timely and positive fashion to rectify my situation. Certainly, this is a superb reflection of the kind of company Milgard is -- customer service oriented and the spirt and intention to "make things right." Regarding the product, the windows are high quality and great value in every respect. I would highly recommend Milgard products.

Manufacturer errors
Orignally purchased 4 custom windows. 2 windows had to be returned due to improper packaging/shipping, frames bent. The 2 windows that were rebuilt installed yesterday. 1 window improperly finished, glazing bead not set correctly between frame and glass pane. Glass broke

Bought Milgard Aluminum window as part of recent kitchen/bathroom remodel. Window matches, similar windows installed in 2015. Though windows were 4 times less costly in 2015. Very pleased with look and quality.

Great Customer Service
I bought my windows a number of years ago but a few became difficult for me to open and close. I contacted Milgard and from that first conversation I knew I was in good hands. Efficient, professional and kowledgeable customer reps. Serviceman came and identified the problem. An appointment was scheduled to fix the problem. Today, serviceman came on time, when scheduled, and fixed the windows without charge because of their amazing guarantee.

Patio doors leak and do not close properly
We bought a few windows and three sliding patio doors, we had them installed by the recommended installer by the milgard reseller, one of the doors could not be locked due to the door having the wrong doors on a frame meant to open on the opposite side, Milgard kept sending the wrong hardware and it is 3 moths since they installed and the frame has yet to be replaced. On our huge 4 panel sliding door it does not close properly so when it rains there is water on the inside of the house, the rubber seals between the aluminum and the glass is also not seated properly, and the door is extremely hard to open on one side and the other side is fairly hard opening, not opening as nicely as the doors they had in the showroom at Tri Supply in Austin. I hope the service will and warranty will take care of these issues, I guess time will tell

What a difference!!!
I just bought these windows and right away we can tell the difference, it used to be so cold in our bathroom, when we just had the window installed, now we can feel the heat, and the same goes for the kitchen window...So glad I purchased these windows.

Thermal break aluminum window frames
Much better quality than the vinyl windows. The black frame Windows look better against the natural wood wraps. No warping problems like the vinyl. The window Glides nice year-round no matter what time of the year you have to open or close the window it doesn't feel stiff like the vinyl windows do. Cuts the outside noise down way better than the vinyls do. The thermal break prevents sweating. I've completely switched over to the thermal break aluminum windows. As far as I'm concerned I will never go back to the cheap vinyl frames.

Excellent construction quality
I have had Milgard windows since construction. I have been gradually replacing the original windows for double pane units. They are very well made; and, the company always takes care of any complaint.

good quality window
I ordered several windows of the same size and they were consistent. 5/5 there. Most had some aluminum shavings in the wells of the aluminum extrusions. I will definitely ding Milgard for the phone and web support. NOWHERE on the website are there any installation instructions for BLOCK FRAME aluminum windows. the "Chat" on the website was worthless, and the phone support was worse. The woman I spoke with had the perky voice and all, but almost no knowledge of the product. When she finally understood the issue, she was similarly unable to help, referring me to the trade association for aluminum windows! ha! When I pointed out this absurdity, she became snippy and hung up on me. Waste of my time.

Love the warranty on Milgard windows
They are the only windows I would put on my house. I have double paned windows and the one time moisture collected between the panes Milgard took care of the problem at no cost to me.

Poor Design
Ordered bronze, almost black color aluminum. Screens are shimmed with white plastic, very obvious. Also had to replace two out of three windows due to seals breaking and water trapped between double glass, lifetime warranty.

Screens were sub-standard
We purchased Thermal Break Aluminum Windows as replacements. The screens that came with them were so flimsy and poorly designed that they were unusable. When our local dealer complained to Milgard, he was brushed off. The dealer had to fabricate new screens in his shop, at his cost. Milgard came nowhere near living up to its reputation.

Replacement windows
We replaced all of our windows with Milgard 14 years ago. They were gray with white grids in double panes. We have been satisfied with them in sunny California. About a year ago shading started appearing around the grids. We contacted Milgard and today Leo and Nick arrived to replace those windows that were affected. Great men!! They were friendly, efficient, and even replaced a handle while they were here. No wasted time, in and out quickly. All under the lifetime guarantee. Thank you, Milgard!

Terrible manufactring
I bought two Aluminum Sliding windows. One came with damaged frame and the other came with wrong sliding door. They were both ordered complete assembled doors but they came unassembled. The rubber gasket on the fixed panel was jammed inside the stile and there were screw holes on the fixed panel. The wheels were on the wrong end of the panel and the lock strike is installed in reverse direction. The whole this was a mess and when I called Milgard I was told Home Depot was suppose to put the door together. I called Home Depot and they say they never put the doors together. I will dispute my credit card charges on one of the doors and let Milgard and Home Depot fight it. I still need Milgard to come and fix the Lock and take care of the squeeking sound that come from the slider when opening and closing. I had to pay $500 extra to my contractor to put the door together and fix the rubber gasket. By the way I sent a Service Request four days ago so far no one called.

Good windows, poor customer service
We have our windows and sliding glass door installed in April, 2018. We ordered aluminum windows in a dark bronze color replacing nearly 60 year old builders grade aluminum windows.
The price is good competitive to the market.
Pros. We like the dark bronze finish, the construction on both the windows and door seem solid and long lasting (will outlive us, that's for sure) drafts we had from our home's original widows are gone and the noise reduction is noticeable. It's very quite in our house.
Cons. The order was late and that slowed the remodel considerably. When they arrived, two of windows were incorrectly made and most of the rest were damaged in transit. Getting the order remade correctly and shipped without damage set our project even further back.
Milgard refused to offer any refund for their problems.
Also, they shipped the wrong kind of screws for the sliding glass door, round head screws instead of flat head and that is causing little dings in the door. There were a few little dings and scratches, but a we just decided to install them and live with the blemishes.
Like the windows and door, not so happy with the Milgard's attention to details and service.
A little touch up paint promised by our contractor to be provided by Milgard would be nice
Would recommend with a note to pay attention to what is delivered.

Horrible Warranty
Our glass shattered with no impact and this series does not include a warranty for the glass. To replace the glass alone is $950.00 and Milgard will not stand behind their product. I will never use this brand again.
