Aluminum Series Single Hung Window is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 240.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good looks and I just got the windows installed today. They look very nice and beautiful. The were well constructed to the size of my window openings. Fit nicely and neat. Look very sturdy. Easy to operate. Still, will have to wait for several months to evaluate the materials and product performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Little Surprised We had 4 new windows installed and a small slider door. I was surprised to see that the window corners, out of the factory packaging, were not flush and gaps could be seem between the two jointing pieces. I figured that the installer would correct. I asked him about and he said that was normal. After the installer left, I noted that I would need to be careful when cleaning the window, so I don't cut myself on the uneven joints. One corner piece is installed slightly higher than the other. I was also surprised that the small patio slider interior handle and frame on that same side was so flexible when opening and closed. I thought it would be constructed more rigidly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time will tell. This week we had three Milgard panes in our dining room with three Milgard panes. We also had two windows replaced downstairs in our daylight basement. Both were Milgard and they were replaced by Milgard. All five pieces of glass had reputed a seal and were foggy and had lots of water droplets inside. While the installation went well, only time will tell if the new windows retain their integrity. This is an expensive process that shouldn't arise after the first installation....which was also expensive. The installer did a nice job, but it was disappointing that the original windows failed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Last of the Aluminum Type Windows Ours are black double pain with Colonial Inserts. We originally bought this type of window several years ago and slowly began to change out our windows from the old silver single pane aluminum type. The new ones purchased had to be specially manufactured due to the nature age of the home (50 yrs +). The new windows fit into the openings with no problem. Milgard manufactured these windows in Southern California so they're working on inches and not some foreign measurements. The windows were delivered in a Milgard truck not by common carrier which tells you they care about ensuring the product does not get damaged in transit. I highly recommend the Milgard aluminum windows. Oh, the price was right as well even for a specially manufactured item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality, Price, Customer Service! We purchased windows, sliding patio doors, and French doors and we are pleased with all of them! They are solid frames, keep noise out, and have an overall great look. The price was a big factor in going with Milgard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality control The poorest quality control in windows I have seen. I ordered two, and upon arrival one was improperly assembled, so that it would not even close properly. It's replacement had a badly scratched pane. Both windows had excess sealant streamers, globs, and smears all over. The screens were basically glued in place by excess sealant. It took over an hour to scrape and clean all the sealant off the glass, outside the frame, and off the screens. The windows are on the lower end of the scale to start with, but would have been quite acceptable if not for the shoddy workmanship and lack of quality control.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor customer service I’ve called and email Milgard for 3 months. I’ve requested replacement rollers for the windows I purchased a few years ago. Aside from a case number, I have yet to receive a single roller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do it, you won’t be disappointed! I have lived in my condo for 27 years, and the windows were old when I moved in. Finally decided to get new ones, and I highly recommend the Milgard windows. They work beautifully, are well constructed, and I’m not afraid that they’re going to fall out if I try to take them out to clean them. What a difference clean windows and screens make. Very satisfied customer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good windows, poor service I'm a general contractor. We install all types of windows and doors. If you're looking a quality, low priced window or door, Milgard is the place you want to shop. I actually prefer them to some more expensive brands. Where they fall behind (or maybe this is how they save money and are able to provide a less expensive product) is their service. Their dealers are not able to get any sort of replacement items, be it touch up paint or latches. The online support consists of an e-mail form (doubtful to get a response) or an 800 number (usual wait times of 30 plus minutes and no call backs if you choose that option). Forget about getting any onsite service. They claim it's available, but I've never been able to get anyone out. With that being said, I rarely have issues with their products and the job goes smoothly with everyone being happy they saved money. But on those few occasions when there is an issue, be ready for lots of phone calls, letters, emails, waiting, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Windows Replaced our old aluminum windows that were leaking and corroding. These new double paned windows retain heat in the winter and remain cooler in the summer. Also lessens street noise as we live off of a blvd.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible experience I ordered four windows from Lowes. One was rejected by Lowes because it was so badly damaged. One I refused because it was damaged. One I accepted but it still had some damage to it. Lastly, I'm still waiting for a replacement for the fourth one that arrived at the store, was received and then lost. Incredibly frustrating!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Customer service needs work! We have an entire home full of brand new fiberglass windows and doors. We also have a very large vinyl slider (they couldnt make this in fiberglass). We have had nothing but problems with the hardware and wheels. Customer service has not responded to our multiple inquiries. We can't even lock our doors or patio slider. Super bummed. Paint is also already coming off the vinyl slider.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from questionable quality and deign These windows are very new and pieces are starting to break off. The folding plastic handle lock down has broken off my awning window. This looks like it can happen easily to all the other windows. There easily could have been a better way to solve this. A number of plastic screen holders have broken. Why such thin flimsy plastic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Door hardware As much as I like your windows and doors, the hardware for the sliding doors were missing parts and there are directions in the box as the door installation directions had referenced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional looks We installed Milgard Aluminum windows when we remodeled our house 5 years ago. We have a small rental that we excluded until now. Yes a pain to cut out the stucco to install, but now the windows on the property all match and look and function wonderfully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish Windows If you are looking for a sleek, contemporary window, consider the Milgard Aluminum Series. The frames are minimal. They are not bulky like other brands. We love the look of this series. They are expensive looking without the expensive price. We ordered the Bronze Anodized, but they look black which is what we wanted.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problems w/Milgard windows These Aluminum Milgard windows came with the new house I bought in 1998. The double hung windows have always been really hard to open, have to try to lift them REALLY hard. Now my neighbor told me he broke his trying to push it open. He doesn't speak very well English & asked me to help him. My window also mold a little around the frame/seal areas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Windows I really love my windows. They look great in our modern studio loft. They open and close easily and really block the harsh sunlight. I'm so happy I did a little research beforehand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oustanding, and stands the test of time. I bought Milgard aluminum windows in 2010, 9 years ago for the upstairs of my home, 6 windows total. The windows are rather large, the smallest about 5 feet in width and 30+ inches in height, the larget 8 feet(double sliders). Could not be happier. ALL of our friends were convinced their vinyl windows of various brands were superior. Well, after 9 years, some of them are replacing their windows due to the fading and scratching...not to mention the shaking of the windows during high wind events. Please continue to offer these great windows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Aluminum patio door and weather tight! Southtown Glass here in Salem, Oregon just replaced a leaky aluminum sliding patio door in my mid-century modern home with a new Milgard Aluminum one. Because the door fin couldn't be used in this application, Southtown Glass made a z channel for the bottom to keep out the rain in this south-western exposure and added a water barrier under the door frame; it rains a lot here in Salem and so keeping the rain out was a requirement for choosing a door and installer. The door is beautiful and maintains the mid-century modern look of my home: I choose anodized aluminum to match the other original sliding glass doors in my home. Thanks to Southtown Glass for an expert install and Milgard for an excellent product. I'll repost if I have any issues down the road.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Look good from far away These windows look absolutely great from a distance. The detail work is terrible. Many of the weather stripping seams are twisted in the track and not fully adhered at the corners. have submitted for a representative to orchestrate repairs and haven’t heard back yet. Will update review when they are done. Overall not happy with the details after spending $15k on windows for our new construction custom home. They do look beautiful overall though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Need help! Overall I am happy with the product but I am very dissatisfied with the dealer (California Window & Door, Palm Desert, CA) that sold me the sliding glass doors and fixed windows. I have one large picture window that was either measured wrong or installed incorrectly and is not properly sealed. I had the dealer come back last summer after install and they told me I had to contact Milgard about the window that is not correctly installed. When it rained hard this winter the window leaked all over my new wood floors and I had the dealer come back out and they put some caulking around the outside of the frame and then sent me a bill! I am definitely not paying that as the window is still not properly sealed and you can push on one side and you can see light through the frame from the inside. They need to replace the window or make it right. I am reaching out to them again to come back and fix. Milgard needs to properly vet their dealers.
