Awning Windows

With just the turn of a handle, awning windows are easy to use and versatile, pairing well with picture windows.

Awning windows are hinged on top and open outward, enabling ventilation without letting in rain or falling leaves. Screens are on the inside of the window, where they're more protected from the elements. Awning windows are often used for basements because they can be placed high on the wall and easily operate with a turn of the handle. They are a great choice to pair with non-operable windows, such as above or below a picture window, since awning windows are generally smaller in size than double hungs, casements or sliders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by we are very pleased with our new windows Thanks for the quality and warranty of your windows--Tuscany awning. Our installer did a great job--on time and on budget. September 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best idea ever! This window is the very best thing that has come along. We can view the backyard from out kitchen window where this replaced a slider. The only down side to this window is we had to make the height of the window a bit shorter as this is the largest awning window that is made by Milgard. All of the 16 new windows and the patio door from Milgard are MUCH MORE QUIET!! Than any other window we have found out there. We live next to a busy street behind our house and found even in the middle of the night we sleep much better than we did beforehand. Hopefully I will never have to move but if so and have to have windows replaced in our new resident , we will choose Milgard Tuscany again!! PERIOD!! August 30, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Product did not come with a crank As a result, the window cannot be opened............ January 24, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Looks great but beware if you ever plan to open your windows The positive: These windows are beautiful architecturally. I'm a professional architect and have used these in my own modern home. The negative: The screens must be removed or opened via hinge every single time you want to open your window. It is a huge hassle and the tiny plastic clips that hold your screen frame to the window frame break very easily (mine snapped off after just opening my windows three times. The window mechanism should be designed so that opening via crank, etc. can be done without having to first open the screen. October 28, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor quality Control arm hits window when opening and closing window. After calling customer service tech came out. And said this is how it should be. Poor quality. ".........................."...........................".............................." January 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is beautiful inside the home and outside Our contractor suggested the picture window on the lower and the upper two windows to be an awning that is split and each opens seperately, We love it. It lets the air in with out the screen in the middle of the view. This window is not in-expensive, but well worth it. We just finished our home with Tuscany line in casement crank outs, picture, sun burst, and traditional sliders. Milgard was great in my request for thicker glass 3/16th and tempered on both sides. Yes, that cost a little extra but worth it in a home with boys. Be sure to look at the frames of these windows in comparison to other brands. There is a big difference and you will be happy your noticed. These window are "beefer and stronger frame". The Multil level frame on the picture windows is very elegant. Especially above a front door. March 30, 2012
