Casement Windows

A casement window is hinged at the side and opens outward like a door. It looks like a picture window because unlike double hung or sliding windows, a casement window has no rail. Some casement windows are simply pushed open, but most have a hand crank. Screens are placed on the inside of the window, where they're more protected from the elements. If you're installing windows over a sink, countertop or appliance, a casement window with a crank can be the perfect solution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Wood clad is beautiful window Installed 3 years ago the windows are still beautiful. The service has been both effective and prompt. The fiberglas frames still look new and the protection from weather is still rock solid. The ability to get both the wood clad and color finished fiberglas interiors with the same exterior frame color was a key choosing both Milgard and our window style. October 28, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor and complicated customer service. Our house was built in '07, and we have a lot of issues with our windows. I've tried contacting customer services to send someone out to look at them. But, they want me to provide information supposedly on the windows, which I cannot find anywhere. Since the sashes are broken I cannot look inside the frame. Frustrating and still not fixed. February 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sound deadening We built our home next to a very busy highway and find the quiet line windows to be very effective. Cracking the window open to closing it reduces the noise by at least 80%. Had to drive 325 miles to the nearest dealer to get this quality product. New construction so cannot verify energy savings. Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Product We installed these windows on a new home build in the Colorado mountains. Great selection for rooms with views and the need for functional air movement throughout house. Have worked perfectly since day one. We are now in year 9. Milgard's warranty is what sold us on their product as we live in a remote area and sometimes difficult to find reliable contractors. They have backed their product. Would highly recommend. We love our windows!! February 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Casement window defeats it's purpose Had my windows replaced on my 1950's home. Windows installed are nice except for the casement window over my sink. Prefer the orginal due to the fact that the windows (double) once opened fully (90 degrees), travels back into line of sight obstructing my view and a thick center support adding to the obstruction. Lost a quarter of my view. Original window had no center support and opened 120 degrees from hinge point, giving the home an open arms welcome feel. February 7, 2015

Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Investment Ever! We purchased Milgard Windows to replace all the windows in our house. Since we live in Colorado we were told these windows were the 'best' and would work well keep out the cold and heat. Not so! Our bedroom blinds, when shut, move when the wind blows as the air just comes right through the closed window seals. The screens were so hard to put on we had to have the installer come back to install them. He also found some extra hard to put on so he just used his fist and slammed them in. Now, the screens that were slammed in are popping out. I can't tell you how disappointed I am in spending thousands of dollars and getting such an inferior product. December 18, 2014
