Tacoma, Wash. (April 23, 2014) — Milgard Moving Glass Wall Systems listed as the most popular door product among builders according to the BUILDER’s Top 40 Products of 2013, released this month.
The report recognizes products that gained the most attention among the BUILDER audience, a variety ranging from bacteria killing air purifiers to bamboo floors. Among the diverse mix of innovative home construction products acknowledged, Milgard Moving Glass Wall Systems was listed as the sixth most popular product overall.
Last year, Milgard launched Moving Glass Wall Systems in a stacking operation style to address the growing consumer demand for maximizing views and the popularity of indoor-outdoor living.
“Even in tract homes, moving glass walls can add a touch of elegance and enlarge the amount of perceived space,” said Karen Davis, architectural specifications representative at Milgard. “As the trend for smaller, more efficient homes grows, moving glass walls can expand the square footage in a small blue-print by creating new indoor-outdoor living spaces.”
Following the initial success of the Stacking Glass Wall, Milgard launched bi-fold and pocket operation style options in a product line extension last month.
According to BUILDER, there seemed to be a focus on products that help integrate interior and exterior space in 2013, whereas in the year prior, the attention was on alternative energy.
Milgard Moving Glass Wall Systems come in aluminum and aluminum clad wood finishes. The all-aluminum frames are thermally broken for improved energy efficiency.
