Aluminite Celebrates 30-Year Milgard Partnership With $30,000 In Targeted Donations

TACOMA, Wash. (February 5, 2010) — When Aluminite looked for a way to celebrate its 30-year affiliation with Milgard Windows & Doors, it didn't take long to find the perfect outlet for its appreciation. To honor the relationship and celebrate the two companies' joint successes, Aluminite has committed $30,000 to Milgard's Matching Gift/Community Action Team program, or MG/CAT.

One of the largest independent window and door screen manufacturers in the U.S., Aluminite had grown up with Milgard, opening its own manufacturing centers close by as Milgard expanded into new markets.

"We approached Milgard looking for ideas on how to celebrate this milestone," said Brian Cummings, president of Aluminite. "A conversation Milgard's purchasing group led us to their MG/CAT program, which aligned perfectly with the desire to honor the employees of both organizations in all the different communities we serve. Milgard's localized MG/CAT program reaches out and actively improves our communities, making our own neighborhoods better places to live and do business in."

The donation will be split among Milgard's nine manufacturing locations and its corporate office group. Each of the 10 employee-run MG/CAT committees will direct a $3,000 donation from Aluminite to the cause of its choice. The gift recognizes the long relationship between the companies and also honors the commitment that employees of both companies have made contributing to their joint success.

Milgard Matching Gift/Community Action Team volunteers participate in community events, fundraising and community improvement activities through volunteerism and monetary donations. The program's aim is to inspire volunteerism, help those in need and care for the greater good of others in the community. Milgard matches employee donations and provides additional incentive for employee volunteerism by doubling the size of the matching donation when the employee has donated 50 or more hours of time to the same organization in the past 12 months.
