Aluminum Windows
Aluminum Windows

Milgard Aluminum windows was developed to address specific design requirements --- not as a low-cost alternative to other material options. As a result, Milgard Aluminum windows have the flexibility to suit a multitude of projects ranging from custom homes to light commercial applications.

We replaced existing windows (retro-fit) that were falling apart and some were not operable. We are very pleased with our new Milgard Aluminum windows. They operate with ease and block out most of the street noise. We live in a city and off of a boulevard. The look is very sleek as our townhouse is contemporary. We couldn't be more pleased with our choice. - Manhattan Beach, CA

Thermally Improved Aluminum

Depending on your region, you may be using Milgard Thermally Improved Aluminum windows.

The use of thermal barriers in aluminum framed windows vastly improves insulating ability. Polyurethane is placed between the frame to create a thermal barrier and reduce the flow to heat. Milgard Thermally Improved Aluminum windows are equipped with this thermal break and as a result, are more energy efficient.

Aluminum Single Hung Window is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 119.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what we were looking for 1960's Eichler style home with aluminum sliding doors, needed replaced along with 9 pieces of frameless full-hgt. glass units. Doors worked perfectly style-wise, ease and quietness of operation is a plus. Retained look of home, noticeable change in keeping cold out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasting beauty and durability I've had my Milgard doors and windows for 25 years and they look as nice today as the day they were installed. The rollers on my doors began to tell me that they are 25 years old, however. They were still perfectly functional but were just harder to move open and closed. Milgard responded promptly to my request for replacement rollers under thier most remarkable warranty program and, within a week, two professional and courteous technicians came to my home and replaced the rollers on both doors in no time. Great work Milgard. I assure you that you are very much admired and appreciated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Mid Century Style Slider Bought this product because of Milgard's reputation, cost and quality of the product. The sliding doors we replaced were 30 years old and did not open or close easily anymore. We installed the doors ourselves and they look great! We are enjoying the ease of operation and the new ones are wider for a better view of our mountains and pool outside . The instructions for novice DIY folks are difficult and could be made clearer but we made it through with only a few glitches.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Condensation :( First of all, these windows look great! They are a bargain too. We have the casement and awning types installed and they are easy enough to operate, although it can be hard to reach the upper lock lever. However, there are two big problems with these windows. First, the operable units whistle when it is windy. (I ended up adding a 1/16th inch thick neoprene tape to the frame around the entire opening which did fix this problem.) Second, they sweat like crazy! We live in a temperate climate on the coast in Northern California and almost every morning this winter our "thermally improved" windows were dripping with condensation... We're hoping that running a dehumidifier next winter will help with this problem as they would be a nightmare to replace. Don't get these unless you live where the winters are warm!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too soon to tell These windows seem good. Solidly built and easy to open and close. Because they were only installed yesterday, it's too early to fully evaluate them. But so far, so good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plastic Screen Tabs are Junk! I installed seven Milgard windows in a recent construction project. Within just a couple of months after being installed, all the plastic tabs that secure the screen to the window started breaking and the screens started falling out. They used very cheep plastic in the manufacturing of the screen holder tabs. JUNK!
