Energy Efficiency

The use of thermal barriers in aluminum framed windows vastly improves insulating ability. Polyurethane is placed between the frame to create a thermal barrier and reduce the flow to heat making Milgard Thermally Improved Aluminum windows more energy efficient. (Not available in all areas.)

Aluminum Single Hung Window

Single Hung
With the Aluminum Series single hung window, the lower panel slides vertically upward when opened and it overlays into the stationary top panel. You can close and lock the window securely, in one motion, with the spring action lock. If the window is closed, it's locked.

Aluminum Horizontal Slider

Horizontal Slider
Horizontal sliders are one of the most common aluminum window styles seen in homes today. You can select which side opens, either left or right. The spring action lock lets you easily see if your window is closed and locked.

Aluminum Casement Windows

All Milgard aluminum windows are built to your exact specifications. Aluminum casement windows can be easily combined with other casements or operating styles for a dramatic effect. Casement windows open to the exterior of the home with a side hinge, similar to a door.

Aluminum Awning Windows

Aluminum Series awning windows are durable with clean lines and a modern look. This window opens outward from the bottom with a crank handle to ventilate your home.

Aluminum Picture Windows

Because of their clean, narrow sightlines, Aluminum Series picture windows make a beautiful wall of windows when used in combinations. These metal windows do not open, or have any rails to obstruct their view, making them ideal for large walls and high ceilings.

Aluminum Radius Windows

The soft curves of radius windows make them very visually appealing. Try a full round, quarter round, half round or arch top. Combine a radius window with casements, pictures, awnings or single hungs for endless design possibilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do it, you won’t be disappointed! I have lived in my condo for 27 years, and the windows were old when I moved in. Finally decided to get new ones, and I highly recommend the Milgard windows. They work beautifully, are well constructed, and I’m not afraid that they’re going to fall out if I try to take them out to clean them. What a difference clean windows and screens make. Very satisfied customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Milgard had exactly what we wanted Of all the choices of replacement sliding door companies, Milgard was the only one that had exactly what we were looking for, aluminum bronze, to match our windows. The pricing was fair and the install excellent. A great team of installers did a superb job. Very happy with the results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what we were looking for 1960's Eichler style home with aluminum sliding doors, needed replaced along with 9 pieces of frameless full-hgt. glass units. Doors worked perfectly style-wise, ease and quietness of operation is a plus. Retained look of home, noticeable change in keeping cold out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A250 Aluminum Series is Disappointing I had planned for years to replace the single pane windows in my 1983 home. I was looking forward to a refreshed look and feel. It took 20-weeks for the aluminum A250 series from time of order to day of installation. The windows arrived with a gooey substance on the inside tracks and exposed miter edges of the frames. This allowed metal shavings of the installation screws to stick into the corners and hard set immediately. Three out of six windows require special handling, or force to operate. One window has a spring so tight I think it's going pop when I attempt to open the window. The window contractor has cleaned out the metal shavings, cleaned all of the goo left in manufacturing, and attempted to adjust the windows for ease of operation. I'm surprised at the amount of space their is between the glass frame and window frame. It's unclear how these can be energy efficient. The only way to say this is; the Milgard A250 series windows have a discount feel to them. Milgard's other window series may be better.
