Horizontal Sliders

Horizontal slider windows slides to the left or right for easy-to-open capabilities allowing in natural light and fresh air.

Horizontal Slider windows open with the sash sliding left or right. Some people find sliding windows easier and faster to open than crank-style windows. Since they open and close without protruding, horizontal sliders are an excellent choice for rooms facing walkways, porches or patios. Horizontal sliders are a favorite for contemporary style homes and are also popular for satisfying bedroom egress requirements. In a single slider, one sash slides to open. In a double slider, both sashes open. Double sliders are great for providing air circulation, particularly if there is only one window in the room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They stand by their product We have lived in a home for more than 22 years that had Milgard windows -- they truly do have a "lifetime warranty" - this is why we chose Milgard again as replacement windows in a different home. . . the difference these windows made was astonishing to look through. As the installer said it is like going from a regular TV to an HD TV!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Energy efficient Most of my windows were replaced in 2005 with energy efficient windows ( brand unknown). I was happy with them. Having the last 2 windows installed in 2016 with Milgard windows, I feel it's a much better window. Window was installed in a room that gets direct sun from 12-6 pm, extremely hot in the summer and extremely cold in winter. In the summer, temperature drops by 10 degrees in that room from the previous window. Glass has a greenish tint in the sunlight, which I really like. Best investment I have made. Glass Shop owner recommended this brand and he only installs this brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product We bought all Doors and Windows for our entire house when we remodel our home. They are very easy to operate, very nice look, well design. Doors are sliding very smoothly and easy. Compare with others company, Milgard doors and windows are much better quality. I would definitely go for Milgard again if I have to replace new windows or patio doors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Weak Nylon Rollers The nylon rollers are too weak if your horizontal slider is too big (any window where the sliding section is 6 square feet or larger). The roller itself lasts, but the nylon "bridge" that the roller wheel snaps into is weak. It bends / compresses, making the window more difficult to slide open - regardless of how much silicone spray you use. It's just too heavy. Happened on 3 windows already. I have no problems with the vertical windows or the crank windows though.

NO FOGGING OR PROBLEMS OTHER THAN ONE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A LITTLE TIGHT TO LATCH CLOSED WERE EASY TO INSTALL USING STANDARD RETROFIT PROCEDURES ON A STEEL SCAD BUILDING GLAD WE OPTED FOR THESE RATHER THAN JUNKY HOME DEPOT ONES.
