Casement Windows

No obstructive railings, easy hand-crank open, and interior screens make these windows perfect for installation in virtually any area of the home.

A casement window is hinged at the side and opens outward like a door. It looks like a picture window because unlike double hung or sliding windows, a casement window has no rail. Some casement windows are simply pushed open, but most have a hand crank. Screens are placed on the inside of the window, where they're more protected from the elements. If you're installing windows over a sink, countertop or appliance, a casement window with a crank can be the perfect solution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wood clad is beautiful window Installed 3 years ago the windows are still beautiful. The service has been both effective and prompt. The fiberglas frames still look new and the protection from weather is still rock solid. The ability to get both the wood clad and color finished fiberglas interiors with the same exterior frame color was a key choosing both Milgard and our window style.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not sure yet I have new casement and awning windows plus a sliding patio door. I am getting more draft than I expected and moisture on inside glass that I'm monitoring. The patio door handle was repaired at installation time but is finicky. The install process was lengthy (took weeks and weeks!) and did not go well Close friends with a similar house who live 65 miles away in a very rural area had their windows and doors replaced and it took a different company less than 2 days to complete the full install. They had theirs done about the same time as mine and was a much smoother process. I'm not sure if there is a way For Milgard to check the Install - draft - someone other than the original contractor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great and easy to install Replaced some 78 year old double hung wooden windows with the ultra casement windows. First and foremost the double pane argon gas windows are fantastic, keeps temperature in the house and and cold or hot air out and from a design standpoint they are simply stunning

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Frame deforms when open We left the windows open for ventilation. The glass slipped from the adhesive and the frame distorted. We were unable to close the window. Technician reglazed the window with a different adhesive. Two of the reglazed windows did not hold and had to be repaired again. A bead of silicone adhesive is visible outside the glass on some.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from handsome and sturdy It does what one expects a casement window to do. It opens and closes smoothly, looks very pretty, and insulates properly.
