Every year the Houzz user community determines the winner based on photos saved to Idea books and Milgard had four winning homes selected, all featuring black frames. Take a look at all the winning homes and get ready to be inspired for your next remodel or new construction project.
Traditional to Modern Home Remodel
This home remodel had two of the winning photos – an exterior and an interior. The goal of this project was to achieve a more modern look. Larger windows were added for more natural light. The use of Milgard® Thermally Improved Aluminum windows with dark, thin frames was the perfect contemporary touch.
The exterior materials were updated to incorporate a more muted palette of grays. The metal roof, dark grey siding and dark framed, aluminum windows complement each other for a cohesive look.
The architects opened up the space by tearing down walls and adding more windows, so the inside connected with the outside. The result is an abundance of light flooding into the space which plays beautifully off the white walls. The interior is bright and inviting, plus it allows for beautiful views everywhere you look.

Black Fiberglass Windows Accent a Modern Farmhouse
This project was a stunning renovation with Black Bean colored, matching interior and exterior windows and swinging French doors. In this modern bathroom, the black windows with grids add a beautiful accent and harmonize with the gray patterned tile floor. Dark window frames can make a bold statement in light-colored rooms and in this bathroom, they are well balanced by the navy blue, shiplap walls for a crisp, clean look. Sophisticated Curb Appeal for New Home Construction Project
This home in California has a sophisticated style with UltraTM Series | C650 windows and patio doors. A Black Bean frame color was selected for the window and door frame exterior, which blends in nicely with the gun metal roof, and gray painted exterior of the home. Inside, a white window frame color was chosen, keeping the space light and bright in this modern farmhouse. Fiberglass windows and doors are exceptionally strong and low-maintenance making them ideal for any style and climate.
