Thermally Improved Aluminum Windows Enhance a Remodel
Changing The Architectural Style
The original style of the home was a hodge-podge of Spanish/70’s/Texas Hill Country styles. Architect and builder Finn Sigurdsson envisioned taking the design of this extensive remodel to a more classic modern place.
Adding Modern Windows
Originally from Iceland, Sigurdsson thought that the Hill Country of Texas could use something different. A play on refined and rustic was used to bring character and history to a new modern. Milgard aluminum windows with an anodized bronze finish were a big part of realizing that vision. Custom metal work on the railing and Juliette balcony helped to make the Milgard windows shine.
"We used the thermally broken bronze anodized aluminum windows and sliders. They were the perfect juxtaposition against the crisp white stucco we had planned and the sleek profile allowed for a maximization of views- which was really what this project was all about." - isARK studio
